2 – Consultation

The initial consultation does not involve any training or physical activity on your part; it is simply a chance for me to:

  • Discuss your individual situation, such as your fitness goals and expectations you might expect from the program.
  • Answer any questions and reassuring you of any concerns you might have.
  • Assess your current fitness and health level (this does not involve any physical activity on your part but just means going over your health and exercise history and, if need be, working with your primary Health Care Professional).

(The assessment does not involve any intrusive procedures such as weighing, tape measuring, disrobing, skinfold testing with callipers and the like, nor will there ever be. Your peace of mind and right to dignified treatment is always respected with me.)

  • Demonstrate an outline of the initial exercise routine that will form the early part of your program, along with other routines that we can try further down the line.

If you decide to go ahead with the program then we can make an appointment for the first workout.

There is some paperwork that needs to be addressed and completed prior to any training and it includes:

  • An Application Form. This gathers some basic personal information about you, such as contact information, health and fitness history and the like. It also has a couple of Disclaimers that need to signed (they are similar to those on Gym Membership Application Forms).
  • A list of Membership Conditions and what to bring to your training sessions, such as a floor mat, water bottle and the like.
  • An outline of your first training session. This covers what to expect from it, how it can be modified to suit your condition and so on.
  • Last and most important are two Medical Clearance Forms that need to be signed off by your Medical Doctor (GP) and a Physiotherapist prior to any training taking place by yourself.
